The first meal of a new year can be a very ordinary thing. A cup held in both hands. Something warm on the stove. A few quiet minutes before the day begins asking for your attention.
## An intention you can return to January often arrives with a long list of things to change. Food can become another test to pass. We prefer to begin with curiosity: what makes you feel welcome, what do you enjoy cooking, and who would you like to share more meals with?
A useful intention can be small. Learn one new dish. Keep a pulse you enjoy in the cupboard. Arrange a regular meal with someone whose company you value. A habit that fits your life has more room to become familiar.
## Time for our own tables All Namaste Village locations will be closed on New Year’s Day, 1 January 2027. Our teams will have time away from service, and we look forward to welcoming guests again according to each restaurant’s opening schedule.
Until then, this is a story to take home. Cook something you know, or ask a relative about a dish you have always meant to learn. Write down the detail that seems too small to matter. It may turn out to be the part that makes it theirs.
Thank you for making room for us in your year. We hope the next one brings good conversations, a little more kindness and many reasons to gather.
We’ll have a table ready.
